What is an Uncontested Divorce?
A divorce is uncontested when both spouses reach an agreement with respect to all financial and divorce-related issues (e.g. grounds for divorce, child custody, child support, visitation, value and distribution of marital assets, allocation of marital debt, and spousal support). Both spouses must agree to the divorce.

The entire uncontested divorce process usually takes between 1 to 3 months, depending upon the court's caseload. Once Mr. O'Donnell has been retained, he will begin preparing the necessary papers. After the papers have been completed, Mr. O'Donnell will file them with the court. At this point it is simply a matter of waiting for a judge to sign the Judgment of Divorce.
*Court Filing Fees
Divorce actions must be brought in New York State Supreme Court. The court requires payment of between $335 and $370 in fees, depending upon the county where the divorce action is filed. These court costs are included in Mr. O'Donnell's fee, so the total cost of your uncontested divorce will be $1125.
